It took about 24 hours, but Josh Naylor's contract details are complete.
The Seattle Mariners were reported to have re-signed Naylor to a five-year deal on Sunday night, but none of the salary information was released.
On Monday night, ESPN's Jeff Passan posted it on X: Naylor will get $92.5 million spread over the five seasons.
"Josh Naylor will receive a full no-trade clause from the Mariners, and his $92.5 million does not have any deferrals, per source," Passan added.
Seattle has to be happy with this.
They knew when they got Naylor from the Arizona Diamondbacks in a late-July trade that he was in the final year of his deal. They would have to figure things out when the season ended.
If the partnership hadn't worked, they could've let him go.
But the partnership really, really worked.
Not only did Naylor hit the ball hard, show off his power and bring the energy. He also stole bases and was never caught.
He's one of the slowest runners in baseball but he made it his mission to school pitchers and catchers, again and again.
Talk about endearing yourself to a fanbase quickly.
Naylor is sticking around for the long run.
