Wemby's viral kick has Spurs fans convinced Victor Wembanyama can break a Guinness World Record image

Would you really bet against Victor Wembanyama accomplishing anything at all?

The San Antonio Spurs' superstar is a unicorn of the highest magnitude. Nothing he does is surprising, even that viral kick to get some basketballs unstuck from the net earlier this week.

So if someone told you he could break a Guinness World Record, you'd probably believe them, right?

It certainly seems in range.

Shoutout to a diligent researcher, Maxime Aubin, who did some of the work in a post on X to explain Wemby's chances.

The Guinness World Record for highest kick is 2.94 meters, and the rim is 3.05 meters off the ground.

Wemby's got that easily if he wants it, doesn't he?

Wembanyama's other foot is still literally touching the ground in that still image, too. If he's allowed to leave the ground and land on something padded at the end of this high kick, he could probably get much higher.

Imagine Wembanyama in the box on a soccer pitch going after a bicycle kick. He could probably reach that ball at any height at all.

So yeah, Wemby is unlike any other. The Guinness Book of World Records better watch out.
