The entire NBA was put on notice when Victor Wembanyama was drafted by the San Antonio Spurs with the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.
After having to sit out for a large portion of his sophomore season with deep vein thrombosis (DVT), Wembanyama has returned to action for his third season in the league. The 7-6 phenom has been nothing but dominant so far.
In Monday's win over the Chicago Bulls, Wembanyama filled up the stat sheet, finishing with 38 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, five blocks and one steal while shooting 11-for-19 from the field and knocking down six triples. It's the first time those stats have ever been posted in an NBA game.
That performance prompted quite a claim from a former NBA star.

The way Victor Wembanyama plays basketball, at his unique size, is definitely something that has never been seen before in the NBA.
It seems as if the big man is only getting his career started. In his age-21 season, Wembanyama is averaging 25.7 points, 12.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 3.9 blocks and 1.2 steals a game while shooting 50.6 percent from the field and 32.6 percent from three.
He'll be in the conversation for not only the NBA MVP this season, but Defensive Player of the Year as well.
