The San Antonio Spurs just completed something no team has done in almost ten years.

The loaded young roster has been awarded two straight rookie of the year awards, signifying the success of their rebuild.

The No.1 pick in 2023 and the No. 4 pick in 2024 just played their first season together and seem to have a great future ahead of them.

Stephon Castle received the award Tuesday, after collecting 92 out of 100 first-place votes.

The other votes went to Zaccharie Risacher and Jaylen Wells. Other players getting votes were Alex Sarr, Zach Edey, and Kel'el Ware.

This season, Castle stepped into a role allowing him to play 26.7 minutes per game, in which he averaged 14.7 ppg, 3.7 rpg, and 4.1 apg all while only missing one game the entire season.

Last year, they had similar success with their first overall pick, Victor Wembanyama, who was the unanimous ROY.

The French big man averaged 21.4 points and 10.6 rebounds, quickly establishing himself as one of the best defenders in the league.

Although they missed the playoffs this year, finishing with a 34-48 record, the future is bright with the young talent they have acquired.

The last time this happened was in 2014-2015 and 2015-2016, when Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns won it for the Timberwolves.

The performance of the Spurs' new young duo has officially put the league on notice, and they will only continue to get better.
