The San Antonio Spurs have one of the best teams in the NBA this season. Victor Wembanyama is the primary reason behind their success due to his status as a superstar. However, he does have a strong supporting cast, especially with the Spurs' backcourt.

De'Aaron Fox is the biggest name of the group due to his status as a former All-Star. Apart from Fox, he has the reigning Rookie of the Year in Stephon Castle and the second overall pick from the 2025 NBA Draft, Dylan Harper.

Harper knows the Spurs' backcourt is a huge threat

With the current group of Spurs players, head coach Mitch Johnson has a talented roster. Wembanyama headlines the squad with his reputation as a two-way megastar. However, he is not alone as the star player because the backcourt is filled with star-level talent.

Fox is already one of the best point guards of the past few years. His speed and shot-making ability make him a reliable co-star for Wembanyama. The leadership is also significant, considering he was the franchise cornerstone for the Sacramento Kings for a long time.

With a trio of fantastic guards, other teams might find it hard to give them minutes. Thankfully, that has not been a significant problem for coach Johnson because he has done well to balance their minutes and play them together at times.

Castle's versatility and size help him play alongside the other two guards, which is a good trait to have. Harper is a rookie, so he needs more experience, but he does well when he has the opportunity. The rookie even believes that this is a scary trio for the rest of the league.

"It's scary, I think. We all have the same kind of ability to get to the rim at ease, and we also have the same ability, just make the right play. All three of us are not selfish, and I think that carries us a long way," Harper said about the Spurs' backcourt after beating the Pacers.

As the Spurs move forward, they are making sure they can make a long-term impact. Harper is one of the players who is projected to be a top-tier talent for a long time.

There will come a time when all three players might clash with their minutes, but it is not a problem at the moment. Coach Johnson has a vast number of tools in his arsenal at the moment, and that will matter when the postseason rolls around.
