The Grizzlies have started to search for a new home for Ja Morant, with the Kings recently coming up as a possible suitor.
It has been reported as unlikely to happen, unless the Grizzlies are interested in a specific trade package that the Kings would be willing to offer.
What assets would the Kings trade away to get Ja Morant?
NBA insider Marc Stein reported, "I must confess that some chatter to the contrary over the weekend has circulated suggesting that Sacramento's position could change if Memphis was prepared to accept a package headlined by DeMar DeRozan, Devin Carter and some level of draft capital."
The Kings have been all over the place over the past few years, as they've gone through coaching changes, personnel changes and have made several trades.

Getting rid of DeMar DeRozan's contract is something that the Kings have been trying to navigate recently, and they'd love to do it by putting him in a deal for a younger player like Morant.
There have already been reports that teams have interest in a handful of the Kings' other players, so there could be a lot of movement in Sacramento in the coming weeks.
Aquiring Morant still seems unlikely, as the Grizzlies could field better offers from other teams than the one the Kings would be willing to propose.
The grey area around the draft compensation that the Kings would give up does leave more questions than answers, so that could be a deciding factor in whether this deal would appeal to the Grizzlies or not.
It's interesting to see the Kings go after a point guard just a season after trading away De'Aaron Fox and a few seasons after parting ways with Tyrese Haliburton who turned out to be a star in the NBA.
