Not everyone appreciates Russell Westbrook's game.
But at the end of the day, Russ is going to go down in NBA history with some of the best stats ever.
Now playing for the Sacramento Kings, Westbrook achieved a major milestone on Saturday: He passed Magic Johnson on the all-time assists list.
Westbrook now ranks seventh in history in dimes.
The top-eight looks like this:
- John Stockton - 15,806
- Chris Paul - 12,552
- Jason Kidd - 12,091
- LeBron James - 11,673
- Steve Nash - 10,335
- Mark Jackson - 10,334
- Russell Westbrook - 10,142
- Magic Johnson - 10,141

Westbrook could potentially pass Nash and Jackson before his career is done. If he did that, it'd put him No. 5 all-time on the assists charts.
Passing the man they called Magic is particularly remarkable, of course. Johnson's career was cut short, but he's considered an unquestioned top-10 player of all time.
Westbrook will go down as his own kind of all-time great, not a top-10 player but a special one with special numbers, to be sure.
And those assist totals are some of the best ever. Westbrook is keeping great company.
