The Phoenix Suns are listing Jalen Green as OUT ahead of tonight’s matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans.
Green re-injured his hamstring during Saturday night’s contest against the Los Angeles Clippers late in the first quarter, sidelining him for the remainder of the game. The 23-year-old guard was helped off the floor by two members of the Suns’ coaching staff and escorted to the locker room, where he did not return.

Saturday’s appearance marked just Green’s second game of the regular season after missing the first two weeks with a lingering hamstring issue. In his season debut, Green looked sharp and efficient, scoring 29 points in 23 minutes on 50% shooting in the Suns’ 115-102 victory. His return brought an immediate jolt to Phoenix’s offense and offered Devin Booker some much-needed scoring relief in the backcourt.
Unfortunately, that momentum will once again be halted. Green’s latest setback is expected to sideline him for an estimated four to six weeks, a blow to a Suns team still trying to establish rhythm and consistency. His absence drastically changes Phoenix’s plans of climbing back into the upper tier of the Western Conference standings, leaving Booker and company to carry an even heavier scoring burden.
Outside of Green’s injury, the Suns enter tonight’s game relatively healthy and will look to regain momentum against a struggling Pelicans squad. New Orleans has recorded just two wins across its first nine games, battling through injuries to key players such as Zion Williamson, Jordan Poole, and Dejounte Murray. The Pelicans have struggled to generate consistent offense and cohesion, often relying on bench production to stay competitive.
Two teams searching for stability will now go head-to-head in a Western Conference showdown. For Phoenix, the focus shifts to finding new offensive answers without their explosive young guard. Whether it’s Devin Booker or another member of the starting five, head coach Jordan Ott faces the difficult challenge of sustaining offensive flow and energy without Jalen Green — at least for the next month or so.
