Suns predicted to receive underwhelming Durant trade package in this trade idea image

The Phoenix Suns have very little leverage. All Suns rumors are pointing to the fact that they may not get the huge haul they were hoping for in Kevin Durant trade negotiations. That doesn’t mean they won’t work to find the perfect balance of players to compete with and draft capital to rebuild with. This mock Suns-Durant trade could bring them a little bit of both.

NBA Analyst, Jake Weinback, took to Twitter to explain one of his favorite NBA mock trades to get Durant to Houston.

The Suns' trade idea looks like this:

Rockets receive: Kevin Durant

Phoenix Suns receive: Nikola Vučević, Jabari Smith Jr., Lonzo Ball, No. 10 overall pick (via HOU)

Chicago Bulls receive: Jalen Green, 2027 first-round pick (via UTA, CLE or MIN from PHX)

This trade has the potential to help the Suns in multiple ways. They are getting two proven veterans who can help Bradley Beal and Devin Booker compete right now, another proven young prospect who is already solid and is only going to get better, and a lottery pick in this stacked draft class.

This isn’t the type of haul that many Suns fans are going to get excited about. However, it may be more realistic than some of the other Durant trade packages that have been floating around the internet.

Still, after seeing what the Memphis Grizzlies got in their Desmond Bane trade, getting only one first and no blue-chip players in return, this isn’t the type of Durant trade package the Suns should be jumping at.
