The Kevin Durant trade is officially completed.
Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks and 2025 10th overall pick Khaman Maluach are the main players acquired by the Suns.
The Suns had an opportunity to aquire another player in the deal but opted for draft compensation instead.

What player did the Suns not want in the trade?
NBA insider Michael Scotto reported that "Cam Whitmore was nearly traded to the Phoenix Suns in the Kevin Durant trade...Instead, Phoenix opted for more future second-round draft pick compensation."
Whitmore was later traded by the Rockets to the Wizards on Jul. 5 for draft compensation.
The former 20th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft just finished his second season in the NBA.

He may get more opportunities in Washington, as he's joining a team that's very much still in the rebuild process.
In the 2024-25 NBA season, he averaged 9.4 PPG, 3.0 RPG and 1.0 APG in 51 games.
Whitmore is under contract through the 2026-27 NBA season, with a team option for the final year.
