The Phoenix Suns have dealt with plenty of injuries this season. Jalen Green has missed 31 games, while Grayson Allen and Dillon Brooks have also missed a considerable amount of time.
Due to Phoenix's injuries, they've had to rely on a deep bench. Enter Jamaree Bouyea. Originally signed on a two-way deal, Bouyea has been one of the most efficient players in the league, impressing every time he steps on the floor.
Thus far in the 2025-26 season, Bouyea is averaging 14.5 minutes per game and 7.8 points per game in 17 appearances for Phoenix. While his scoring total doesn't jump off the screen, it's his efficiency that has been astounding.
Bouyea is averaging over 55.2% from the field, strong for a 6'2 guard. Additionally, he's shooting 43.2% from three-point range and has an average Player Efficiency Rating (PER) of 19.9 per game. That ties him for 24th in the league with James Harden and.01 points behind Anthony Edwards.
In 15 minutes for the Suns in Wednesday's game against the Cavaliers, Bouyea scored 18 points on 7-for-12 shooting including 2-for-3 shooting from downtown. He added four assists and three rebounds as well.
In five G-League games for two different affiliates (Spurs and Suns), Bouyea is averaging 20.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.2 steals.
As injuries continue to affect Phoenix, the Suns would be wise to convert Bouyea's contract to a standard deal. That would make him eligible to play more than 50 games (a restriction on two-way deals) and compete in the playoffs.
Bouyea and the Suns will be in action next against the Sacramento Kings Friday.
