The Phoenix Suns had a three-game win streak snapped Friday against the Atlanta Hawks and suffered more tough injury luck.
In the loss, Devin Booker suffered a gruesome right ankle sprain which forced him to leave the arena on crutches. Prior to the injury, Booker had posted 31 points, four rebounds, three assists and one steal in 28 minutes.
To make matters even worse, Jalen Green also left the game due to a re-aggravated hamstring injury. Before exiting, Green had played just four minutes. After missing just 21 games total in his first four seasons, Green has already missed over 40 contests for Phoenix during the 2025-26 season.
That said, ahead of their matchup against Miami Sunday night, the Suns received some encouraging news regarding their stars. For Booker, what seemed to be a serious injury may not be as rough as anticipated. Head coach Jordan Ott revealed that Booker will be re-evaluated in one week.
As for Jalen Green, Ott indicated that although Green tweaked his hamstring, his MRI revealed nothing new. As a result, Green is listed as day-to-day. Green did not suit up for the Suns Sunday against the Heat.
Despite their numerous injuries, Phoenix has still stayed in the thick of the Western Conference playoff race. The Suns are currently sixth in the standings with a 27-18 record and trail the Houston Rockets by one game for fourth place.
Following the conclusion of Sunday's game, the Suns will play against the Brooklyn Nets Tuesday.
