The Philadelphia 76ers will be without guard Tyrese Maxey for Sunday night’s game against the Atlanta Hawks, according to the team’s official injury report.

Maxey (illness) also missed Friday’s matchup with the Indiana Pacers, a 115-105 Sixers victory.

Maxey’s third in the NBA in scoring this season, averaging a career-high 31.5 points per game. Maxey’s shooting 46.7% from the field and 39.1% from 3-point range. He’s also averaging 7.2 assists per night, good for ninth in the league.

Maxey was playing at an All-NBA level before his absence. He’s scored 40+ points in four games this season, including a 54-point night during a 123-114 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Nov. 20.

Guard Kelly Oubre Jr. Also won’t play against Atlanta. Oubre Jr. Has missed the past 12 games due to a knee injury. He’s averaging 16.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists this season.

The Sixers have battled injuries all season. Center Joel Embiid has missed already 14 games this year. Embiid, who was a game time decision against the Pacers, scored a season-high 39 points on 12/23 shooting.

Philadelphia has also been without nine-time All-Star Paul George, who’s only played in nine games.

The Sixers (14-10) are fourth in the Eastern Conference ahead of Sunday night’s matchup. They’ve won three of their last four games, including a 99-98 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Dec. 4.

Maxey and the Sixers will have four days off this week before traveling to face the New York Knicks on Friday night.
