The Philadelphia 76ers placed three players in The Ringer’s Top 100 NBA Player Rankings, which updated on Monday afternoon.

The first Sixer listed is guard Tyrese Maxey, who maintained his No. 13 spot. Maxey is third in the league in scoring this season, averaging 31.7 points on 46.7% shooting. The Ringer credited Maxey’s offensive aggression for his improvement so far.

“He spent the summer working on finishing through contact, and it’s paid dividends: His free throw attempt rate has spiked. His overwhelming aggression and scoring efficiency at all three levels have, in turn, allowed him to dictate terms as one of the league’s best facilitators.”

Next is center Joel Embiid, who rose six spots to No. 65. Embiid, who’s only played in 11 games, is averaging 20.5 points, 6.6 rebounds and one block per game.

“Even in Embiid’s present-day condition—where the structural integrity of his knees is being monitored daily—it’s hard to deny the outsized impact he still has on the game. Never mind that he’s scored at least a point per minute in half of the games he’s played (which is admittedly a scant amount)—his mere presence alters the ecology of the floor.”

The newest entrant on the list for Philadelphia is guard Paul George at No. 85. George was unranked in the previous rankings.

“Generally speaking, Philly is better when its veteran wing is on the court. His biggest impacts are on defense, where the old fella remains one of the most gifted defenders at his position.”

The Sixers return to action against the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday night.
