The Philadelphia 76ers entered Tuesday night's game amidst a three-game losing streak, including close losses to the Brooklyn Nets and Chicago Bulls.

Their recent form has seen them drop to seventh place in the Eastern Conference with a 16-14 record, trailing the Miami Heat by 1/2 a game for sixth.

That said, a win against the Memphis Grizzlies Tuesday would mark an important milestone.

Thus far in the 2025-26 season, the 76ers are 0-4 in games where Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid and Paul George all share the floor.

Although it was close, that all changed Tuesday.

In a nail-biting overtime victory, Philadelphia prevailed.

The trio of Maxey, Embiid and George combined for 85 of Philly's 139 points, but it was rookie VJ Edgecombe who knocked down the game-winning three with 1.7 seconds remaining in overtime.

Edgecombe finished the game with 25 points on 5-for-10 shooting from downtown to go along with four steals.

Maxey and Embiid had 34 each, with Embiid nearly posting a triple-double grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out eight assists.

Despite shooting lower percentages from the field and from three-point range than Memphis, it was defense that shined for the Sixers.

Philadelphia recorded 14 steals, while Memphis had just two takeaways.

Now, back in the win column, Philly has two games remaining of their five game road trip. The 76ers will travel to Dallas to face the Mavericks Thursday before facing the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden Saturday.
