76ers' Paul George gets encouraging injury update ahead of NBA Cup game image

The Philadelphia 76ers have been playing decent basketball this season, especially when factoring in some of the injuries the team has dealt with.

While Paul George has barely played this year and at times has struggled, he's also been one of the better players in the NBA for a lot of his career, and he's obviously someone the 76ers can use on both ends of the court.

His second game of the season against the Milwaukee Bucks, in which he scored 21 points on 12 shots, showed why Philadelphia would love to have him around for the remainder of the year.

The injuries are certainly concerning when it comes to George, but hopefully they're behind him, as he's now played in two straight games and will likely play once again on Tuesday, according to the latest report from CBS Sports.

“George (ankle) is probable for Tuesday's game against the Magic.

“George appears on the injury report with a right ankle sprain but is likely to suit up Tuesday. The veteran has logged three appearances this season, averaging 13.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks in just 22.0 minutes per game as the 76ers carefully manage his workload during his ramp-up to full minutes,” CBS wrote.

Tuesday will feature an NBA Cup game as the 76ers take on the Orlando Magic.

The NBA Cup might not mean a lot to some teams around the league, and the 76ers already have two losses in it, so they’re not in the best spot, but just keeping George on the court should be a step in the right direction long term.
