There's a lot of smoke out there connecting all sorts of NBA teams to Giannis Antetokounmpo, including trade rumors that feature the Philadelphia 76ers and star rookie VJ Edgecombe.
There may not be any real fire, though.
The 76ers reportedly don't want to trade Edgecombe for anyone.
This is what 'Sixers beat writer Kyle Neubeck wrote on X on Friday morning:
"Spoke to a league source this morning who completely shot down the idea that the Sixers would trade VJ Edgecombe in any move, including in speculative deals people are talking about for Giannis. Should go without saying, but he’s part of the foundation in Philly."

The 76ers made Edgecombe the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft out of Baylor. He's been on the mark right from the start.
Edgecombe is averaging 15.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. He's also shooting a solid 36.9% from beyond the 3-point arc while nabbing 1.5 steals per game.
At 6-foot-4 and strong, Edgecombe can play both on and off the ball, and he's also an incredible high flyer.

Obviously, the chance for any team to acquire the Bucks superstar Antetokounmpo would be a big deal. At the same time, there's a balance of the present and future that any team has to consider.
Things could always change, but this latest report indicates the 76ers are happily supporting Edgecombe's future in Philadelphia.
