However, the 76ers were without three of their top players.

Joel Embiid (knee) sat out his eighth consecutive game, Paul George (ankle) was sidelined for the fourth game in a row, and VJ Edgecombe (calf) missed his second straight game during the defeat.

76ers insider Noah Levick gave new injury updates to multiple players on Wednesday.

According to Levick, Embiid participated in solo strength and conditioning workouts, whereas George and Edgecombe trained with the squad. Furthermore, Trendon Watford's status will be reassessed in two weeks following a left adductor strain.

George and Edgecombe seem poised to play in Friday's game versus the Nets, though Embiid is likely to sit out his ninth consecutive contest.

This season, Embiid has played in six games. His playing time has been restricted to 23.3 minutes per game, with averages of 19.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists on 46.0 percent shooting. Although he's still scoring nearly a point for every minute he's on the floor, he doesn't appear to possess the same physical capabilities as the player who earned MVP honors two years ago.

Regarding Watford, he sustained an adductor strain during the 76ers' defeat against the Orlando Magic on Tuesday. The 25-year-old player went up for a rebound in the second quarter and collapsed, requiring assistance to leave the court.
