Just over a week after the Thunder won a title, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander cashed in on a massive contract extension.
What is the new contract?
SGA signed a 4-yr/$285 million extension, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.
He will now have the highest AAV for a contract in NBA history, at $71.25 million. That's around $869,000 per game.
As funny as it sounds, SGA sort of took a pay cut with this contract.

If he waited until the 2026 offseason, Bobby Marks reported during the playoffs that Shai would have been eligible for a 5-yr/$380 million contract.
The Thunder are looking to build a dynasty that wins several titles, and this is one big step towards achieving that goal.
The West appears like it will be more competitive next year, but the Thunder just secured their franchise player until 2031.
SGA won MVP and NBA Finals MVP in the 2024-25 season, averaging 32.7 PPG, 5.0 RPG and 6.4 APG.
