Shai Gilgeous-Alexander reveals his thoughts ahead of anticipated rematch vs. Spurs image

After a brief slide, the Oklahoma City Thunder have gotten back on track recently, including a win Sunday against the Miami Heat.

Back into the starting lineup after missing Oklahoma City's last game against the Memphis Grizzlies, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander posted 29 points, eight assists and five rebounds. Points in the paint were a key factor in the victory, as the Thunder outscored the Heat 66-52 in that category.

The win marks their third straight, including an impressive short-handed win against the Grizzlies, where the Thunder came back from a 21-point deficit.

Now for Oklahoma City, their focus shifts to the San Antonio Spurs. Of their seven losses, the Spurs are accountable for three of them, including defeats on Christmas Day and in the NBA Cup.

Ahead of Tuesday's rematch, Gilgeous-Alexander spoke about the upcoming matchup. "It's obviously a very good team who's gotten the better of us recently. Should be a fun one, should be competitive. We got to go out there and do the necessary things to win the game and if we don't will most likely lose."

Although the Thunder rely on their exceptional defense, scoring should be the main focus against San Antonio Tuesday. In their three losses to the Spurs this season, the Thunder scored 110 points or less, despite their season average of 121.3 points per game.

Following Tuesday's game, the Thunder will return to action Thursday in another high stakes matchup against the Houston Rockets.
