The Oklahoma City Thunder are having a fantastic season, suffering only three losses so far. One of those defeats was in the NBA Cup's Semi-final against the San Antonio Spurs. Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs have proven that they could be a top team this season, as they played well against the defending champions.

These two teams will be playing against each other on Christmas Day. It is one of the five games that will be shown during the special day, which could be a good look into a matchup that will be quite memorable over the next few years.

The Thunder are excited to play against the Spurs

Considering the Thunder have only lost three times this season, they want to get payback from every matchup. They already got revenge against the Portland Trail Blazers, as they have played against each other three times already.

The Spurs and the Minnesota Timberwolves are the two teams that the Thunder want to get payback against. Oklahoma City's first opportunity to do so is against the Spurs on Christmas, which could be the best of the five-game slate on Christmas.

Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault revealed after practice on Sunday that his team is ecstatic about the matchup. Not only is it a special day, but it is also an opportunity to beat the Spurs.

"It's a big day for the NBA, and the guys are excited to play on that slate of games. It's one out of 82 at the end of the day, but it is an elevated circumstance because of the attention on the game, and the noise around it," Daigneault said after practice on Sunday.

"Again, those are good experiences for any team and for us, that's the kind of noise that you have to be able to cut through in the Playoffs if you are fortunate enough to get there."

Moving forward, the Thunder are motivated to keep fighting and proving themselves as the top team. They are the defending champions, so they have a target on their backs. OKC wants to keep succeeding, and this Christmas Day game will be a massive one for both teams.
