The Oklahoma City Thunder entered Tuesday night's game against the Golden State Warriors on a 12-game win streak, looking to add another victory.
Once again, it was last year's MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander who led the Thunder to a victory despite a third-quarter comeback by Golden State. Gilgeous-Alexander led all scorers with 38 points while shooting 5-for-6 from 3-point range. Chet Holmgren added 21 points and eight rebounds on 8-for-12 shooting while Jalen Williams added 22 points, his highest scoring total since returning from injury.
The win now marks a 13-game streak and a 21-1 record. Oklahoma City is five games ahead of second place as it continues to increase the gap on the No. 1 seed in the conference.
Chet Holmgren recently spoke to the media about how the Thunder are able to stay hungry and how that fuels their success.
"We don't really have anybody on the team who is just sitting and reminiscing on what a great career they had," Holmgren said. "I think everyone on the team is striving and chasing for more. The championship wasn't the last check on their bucket list."
Even after winning a championship last year, Oklahoma City has come out even stronger to begin the 2025-26 campaign. In fact, with only one loss on the season so far, the Thunder have a chance to break the all-time record for wins in a season set by the Golden State Warriors in the 2015-16 season.
Having completed a brief two-game road trip, they'll return home to face the Dallas Mavericks on Friday.
