Players throughout the NBA have made it clear that the NBA Cup's prize money matters to them.
Just this week, Knicks guard Tyler Kolek said he bought his mom a new car with the money he earned by making it to the in-season tournament's quarterfinal round.
Compared to some of the superstars' gigantic contracts, maybe it doesn't seem like a ton.
But at every level of the league, the players wouldn't mind the extra cash that comes from winning the NBA Cup.
What's the NBA Cup's prize money?
The NBA Cup has a tiered prize money system that starts with each of the eight teams that reach the quarterfinal round. Every player on a quarterfinalist receives $50,000.
The exact numbers beyond that are related to a formula called Basketball-Related Income.
The 2025-26 payouts were revealed on Amazon Prime Video during the quarterfinals:
- Win championship: $530,933
- Reach championship game: $212,373
- Reach semifinal game: $106,187
- Reach quarterfinal game: $53,093
Head coaches get the same amount as players, while assistants get a smaller proportion. Two-way players get 50% of the amounts.
