Spurs record vs. Thunder: San Antonio extends winning streak over OKC with blowout victory on Christmas Day image

Led by Victor Wembanyama, the Spurs have embraced the challenge of facing off against the league's best side -- the Thunder -- in 2025.

The reigning champions have proven a tough out for the league's other 28 teams, downing all but two of their opponents across 28 non-San Antonio opponents.

But against Wembanyama and San Antonio, that record looks far more wretched. Oklahoma City is yet to claim a win over the Spurs in three appearances. And with back-to-back blowout wins against their fearsome foes, San Antonio doesn't look intimidated by all the Thunder have accomplished so far.

With that, here's what you need to know about the Spurs' record vs. Oklahoma City this season.

Spurs record vs. Thunder

With its win on Christmas, San Antonio moved to 3-0  against the Thunder this season. That mark grows more impressive when you consider that the defending NBA champions have a 26-2 record against all other foes.

The Spurs outgunned their highly-touted opposition, sinking 45-of-84 field goal attempts (53.5%) en route to a 15-point win.

Wembanyama shimmered as he usually does, producing 19 points, 11 rebounds, three steals and one block in 26 minutes of action. His impact stretched beyond the stat sheet; his harrowing length and timing deterred Oklahoma City from attacking the rim. All of that is to say that San Antonio's supernova made a marked impact on proceedings from the bench.

He wasn't alone in anchoring the Spurs' impressive showcase. De'Aaron Fox scored 21 of his 29 points in the first half, finding his rhythm while matched up against the Thunder's best perimeter defenders. Rookie Dylan Harper also showed flashes of brilliance, tallying a loud 12 points that was punctuated by a wondrous two-handed dunk through traffic.

The Thunder's attack was left sputtering amid an onslaught of Spurs defenders. They hit just 38.9% of their shots and 25% of their threes on Thursday afternoon. Oklahoma City's 102 points is its second-lowest tally this season.

What's the reason for San Antonio's success over their rival? It's anyone's guess, really. Wembanyama's defensive gravity keeps even the best attacking players on their toes. The Spurs also have an assortment of ball-handlers capable of fending off OKC's finest defenders. Regardless of the reason for their success, it's clear that there isn't a side better-equipped at handling the Thunder than San Antonio.

We'll see if they can maintain that level of display against Oklahoma City going forward.
