Ryan Kalkbrenner put together one of the best college basketball careers in recent memory.
And now, he's in the NBA. The Charlotte Hornets used pick No. 34 to choose Kalkbrenner in the NBA Draft's second round on Thursday night.
The center from the Creighton Blue Jays will bring an impressive set of traits to the NBA, and he may soon become a fan favorite.
Here's what you need to know:
How tall is Ryan Kalkbrenner?
Ryan Kalkbrenner is 7-foot-1.
His height played a huge role in his college hoops career, in which he was named Big East Defensive Player of the Year an astonishing four times.
In his final college season, Kalkbrenner averaged 19.2 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game.
He also knocked down an improved 34.4% of his 3-pointers. If he brings that to the NBA at his size, he's even more dangerous.

Who is Ryan Kalkbrenner's wife?
Ryan Kalkbrenner is married to the former Rachael Saunders.
Saunders was a basketball player for Creighton's women's team, measuring at 5-foot-9.
It's an athletic family. Rachael's father Mike played football at Iowa, while her mother was a golfer and swimmer at Luther College.
How old is Ryan Kalkbrenner?
Ryan Kalkbrenner turned 23 years old in January.
That might be the one main knock against him after he played five seasons at Creighton.
But it doesn't matter as much now. He seems physically ready for the NBA, so he might work out as a great plug-and-play option from the second round.
