The New York Knicks fell just short in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Indiana Pacers. Now, it will be a long offseason with lots of questions, especially after they moved on from head coach Tom Thibodeau.
One Knicks player whose future was up in the air is veteran PJ Tucker. He spent the past season with the Knicks, although he played sparingly and made just one brief appearance in the postseason.
Well, Tucker apparently saw the retirement rumors, and he shut them down with a strong message on Instagram (h/t NBA Central).
"PSA..Since we are in the era of not doing any fact checking and just repost what we hear from uncredited sources smfh. I have to take time out of my vacation to set the record straight so y'all can stop sending me this dumb s—. Never have I mentioned retirement or even given any indication that may be a thing...I'm 40 years young 100% healthy, able, and will continue playing the game I've dedicated my life to...HOOPIN!!!"
Tucker was a second-round pick by the Toronto Raptors in the 2006 NBA Draft, and he has played for a total of eight different teams, including winning an NBA title with the Milwaukee Bucks.
This past season, he appeared in just three regular-season games for the Knicks and 31 games a year ago between the Los Angeles Clippers and Philadelphia 76ers.
But, Tucker isn't thinking about retirement, at least not right now.
