One of the NBA's tentpole events of the offseason, Summer League gives fans their first opportunity to see the incoming rookie class in action at the next level.
Every year, there are rookies who show out and generate a buzz and excitement about how they can help their new team in the present and future. There are also players who underperform, creating a knee-jerk reaction with labels like "bust."

For the former group of players, strong play leads to receiving honors like a spot on the All-Summer League team or Summer League MVP.
While we have seen some Summer League MVPs or All-Summer League team members fail to translate that success to real games in the past, we've also seen some players carry that momentum into Rookie of the Year-caliber seasons, like Damian Lillard in 2012.
