Charles Barkley spoke for basketball fans everywhere on Christmas Day.

As part of ESPN's pregame show before a five-game NBA slate got underway on Thursday, Barkley had some things to say about the NFL.

The NFL didn't used to play on Christmas. It used to be all about hoops.

This year, though, the NFL has three games on Christmas.

Here's what Barkley thinks about that:

"The NFL got greedy and started adding Christmas games. We used to have this day to ourself but Roger Goodell and them pigs at the NFL always want to hog every day of the week now... Christmas is an NBA day."

Football fans will disagree with Chuck.

Basketball fans will agree.

It's a tough balance to strike.

The reality is that viewership for the NFL is always going to beat the NBA.

But in the past, Christmas felt like the unofficial start to NBA's presence in the public sphere. People didn't necessarily pay attention before late December, but this was a great way to reintroduce the league's stars to fans.

Now, if more are watching football, less are watching basketball.

It's not ideal for the NBA, and Barkley isn't happy about it.
