As the New York Knicks prepare for action against the Atlanta Hawks, the NBA announced the league’s top players of the month.
Jalen Brunson has been acknowledged as the Eastern Conference’s top player for December.
The Knicks star is sharing the honor with Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Brunson played in all but one of the Knicks’ 14 games in December.
During those matchups, he saw the court for just under 40 minutes per game. The star guard produced on 47 percent of his shots from the field. He averaged 40 percent from three, while taking 8.9 attempts per game.
Brunson produced 30.6 points per game, along with 7.1 assists, 3.2 rebounds, and nearly one steal per game. The Knicks achieved a 10-3 record during that stretch.
Earlier this week, the NBA announced the NBA All-Star vote leaders. Brunson is third in the Eastern Conference with over one million votes. His hot December, which adds a Player of the Month nod, should help him improve his chances of adding another All-Star game to his resume.
