Mitchell Robinson's trainer continues to call out the New York Knicks' offense image

The New York Knicks are playing well this season and are second in the Eastern Conference with a 20-8 record. It has been a superb season for many players, including Mitchell Robinson. He is mostly known for being a defensive player and a stellar rebounder, but he has improved this season.

Robinson is not scoring at the highest level, but he has shown some brilliant flashes. This includes his recent free-throw improvements. Robinson is still not at his best with his free-throw shooting, but his trainer believes his client only needs more reps.

Robinson's trainer thinks the center needs more shots

The Knicks are filled to the brim with offensive talent. Jalen Brunson is their star player, while Karl-Anthony Towns serves as the primary frontcourt option. With Towns' arrival in the 2024/25 season, that left Robinson in a weird spot, as he was not the nailed-on starter anymore.

Robinson's offensive impact is quite muted when compared to Towns, who regularly scores 20+ points per game. At the same time, Towns also brings perimeter shooting to the Knicks, which is not a part of Robinson's game at all.

Over the past two games, Robinson has improved his free-throw shooting, as he shot 91% across the matchups. Beforehand, he was averaging 20% from the charity stripe. As the trainer, Marcell Scott believes that Robinson will be a more reliable option as he gets more touches.

"Include him in the offense, he will make free throws! Point blank," Scott said on his Instagram page.

If Robinson does continue to shoot this well, Scott deserves a lot of credit for helping the Knicks' center do that. However, it will be hard to keep that going, knowing that Robinson does have trouble with his efficiency from the free-throw line. The two games are promising, but they are the exception to the rule at the moment.
