The New York Knicks are playing some of their best basketball of the season, defeating the San Antonio Spurs for the NBA Cup title Tuesday and defeating the Indiana Pacers Thursday, making seven straight wins.

Throughout the streak, New York has missed many players due to injury, including Karl-Anthony Towns who missed Thursday's game. Landry Shamet has also been sidelined, as the former Wichita State guard hasn't played in nearly a month due to a shoulder injury.

Miles McBride has also been sidelined for nearly two weeks due to an ankle injury. Luckily for head coach Mike Brown, McBride seems to be nearing a return. According to Stefan Bondy of the New York Post, McBride has resumed on-court activities and is now labeled day-to-day.

In increased minutes this season under the newly hired Brown, McBride has posted a career-high in points, averaging 11.6 per game to go along with 2.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists. McBride's scoring success is due in large part to his efficiency beyond the arc. McBride is averaging a career high 44.4% from three-point range, sixth in the Eastern Conference.

That said, the impressive play of point guard Tyler Kolek in recent games will likely create a competition for minutes off the bench between Kolek, McBride and Jordan Clarkson.

McBride's first opportunity to return will come Friday against the Philadelphia 76ers. If McBride is unable to suit up then, he may target Sunday's matchup versus the Heat.
