The New York Knicks were dealt another blow ahead of Wednesday night's game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Guard Josh Hart, who has missed the past six games with an ankle injury, won't play Wednesday. Guard Landry Shamet (shoulder) is questionable.
Hart went down with an ankle injury against the Cavaliers on Christmas Day and hasn't played since. He's averaging 12.3 points, eight rebounds and 5.1 assists this season.
He brings a strong 3-and-D presence to the Knicks. He's shooting 49.8% from the field and 38.9% from deep this season. Hart's started in 14 of his 28 games and will be a significant part of head coach Mike Brown's rotation when he returns.
Hart's absence puts a stress on the rest of the Knicks' backcourt. Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, Jordan Clarkson and Tyler Kolek will all be key players to watch against the Clippers.

Kevin McCullar Jr. Has seen an increased role in place of Hart. He's played in every game since Hart went down, including a 13-point performance in 22 minutes on Dec. 27 against the Hawks.
The Knicks have struggled without Hart. They've lost four straight games and are 2-4 overall since his injury, including a blowout 121-90 loss to the Detroit Pistons on Monday.
New York (23-13) is third in the Eastern Conference, four games behind the Pistons and a half-game behind the surging Boston Celtics. The Knicks will head west for a four-game road trip after facing the Clippers. They'll return home on Jan. 17 against the Phoenix Suns.
