New York Knicks guard Miles McBride will be getting an MRI tomorrow for a left ankle injury, per Michael Scotto of Hoops Hype.
McBride suffered the injury during the Knicks’ win over the Orlando Magic on Dec. 7 after a tough fall on a drive to the basket. X-rays on McBride’s ankle were negative, and now the Knicks will hold their breath as they await his MRI results.
McBride has become one of the Knicks’ most important players this season, averaging a career-high 12.0 points per game and shooting 46.2 percent from three-point range entering Sunday. In his last six games prior to Sunday, McBride was shooting over 63 percent from beyond the three-point arc.
McBride has been key to the Knicks’ hot start, as the team is 16-7, and second in the Eastern Conference. They’ll hope that his ankle injury isn’t serious, and that he won’t need to miss significant time as they enter a pivotal stretch in the early season.
