The New York Knicks are in need of wing depth at the trade deadline this season, and they could target a former Rookie of the Year runner-up.
Per SNY’s Ian Begley, the Knicks could show interest in Sacramento Kings forward Dario Saric. The 2016-17 Rookie of the Year runner-up has fallen out of the rotation with the Kings, leading to rumors that he could be on the move.
“If you're looking for somebody to play a small role, I wonder if they take a look and see what it would take to procure him,” Begley said.
Since a promising start to his career with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2016, Saric has bounced around the league quite a bit, suiting up for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Phoenix Suns, Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors, Denver Nuggets, and now the Kings. Saric has appeared in just three games for the Kings this season, averaging 1.7 points and 1.7 rebounds per game.
While he wouldn’t play a major role with the Knicks, Saric could provide the team with depth in a key area as they look to give themselves a chance to snap a 52-year title drought this season.
