New York Knicks guard Josh Hart found himself ejected early in the second quarter after going down on the floor, hurting his back in the process. The incident happened during Thursday's preseason game against the Philadelphia 76ers in Abu Dhabi.

Hart fought for the rebound inside the paint and then proceeded to take it further. He went down as he was contested well by a 76ers defender. He reportedly hurt his back, and when the 76ers defender tried to snatch the ball away from him, he got upset and threw the ball up in the air. The officials tossed him out of the game as he went to the locker room limping.

It's unclear how severe the injury was since Hart hobbled his way into the locker room and also took some time before getting up off the floor. Before he exited the game, Hart had two points, both of which came through free throws. He made one unsuccessful 3-point attempt. He also grabbed three rebounds and logged one assist.

Recent updates on Josh Hart

Josh Hart revealed at Knicks' Media Day that he re-aggravated a finger injury that previously required surgery. Therefore, he'll be wearing a splint this season and will postpone the surgery till the offseason. Despite the injury, Hart said he's committed to being aggressive on the floor.

“I don’t think about it too much," Hart said. "I just try to go out there and play how I play and if I can’t play how I play and be aggressive and kind of have that toughness mentality that I normally play with, then I’ve got to figure out a different path... But right now the full expectation is just to go out there and hoop this season and help this team be successful.”

It's not clear if Hart will get the starting role under new head coach Mike Brown, who is evaluating other frontcourt options and matchups.
