New York Knicks guard Miles McBride has been on fire from three-point range lately, and it’s quickly catching the attention of his teammates.
McBride has knocked down 20 of his last 32 three-point attempts of late, good for a 63 percent mark from long distance. On the season, he’s averaging a career-high 11.4 points per game while shooting another career-best 44 percent from downtown.
McBride’s ascension to becoming a top shooter in the NBA was rather unforeseen at the start of his career, when he shot under 30 percent from downtown in each of his first two seasons. In two of the last three, he has shot 40 percent or better from three-point territory.
In light of his recent hot shooting, forward Josh Hart joked about McBride’s shooting development, calling his jumpshot “broke” when he first entered the NBA.
“You got to give him credit. He stayed in the gym, made improvements. Now he's extremely confident,” Hart said.
McBride will look to continue his hot shooting throughout the rest of the season as the Knicks look to contend for an Eastern Conference title, and eventually an NBA championship this year.
