Knicks honing in on these two realistic candidates in head coach search image

After days of what some might describe as the Knicks front office shooting airballs, they may have a realistic plan in their search for their next head coach.

What two candidates are the Knicks focusing on?

"League sources say there is an increased Knicks focus on two former coaches who don’t require permission to pursue: Mike Brown (last with the Sacramento Kings) and Taylor Jenkins (formerly of the Memphis Grizzlies)," Sam Amick of The Athletic reported.

This seems like more of a logical idea after the Knicks struggled to even secure an interview with some of the currently employed head coaches across the NBA.

Jenkins and Brown both have had success in the past and are great candidates to fill the Knicks' head coach vacancy.

Mike Brown was a name we heard associated with the Knicks recently, but Jenkins is a newer one that wasn't mentioned as much.

Jenkins was able to revive a young Grizzlies team during his tenure there, but was fired abruptly toward the end of the season.

Mike Brown was let go earlier in the season and is much older than Jenkins, but has a ton of head coaching experience in the NBA over the past couple of decades.

With what the Knicks are looking for, Brown feels like a candidate who fits the veteran coach that New York is seeking.
