New York Knicks rookie forward Mohamed Diawara got the chance to notch his first career start in the Knicks’ latest win over the Indiana Pacers, and head coach Mike Brown believes there is more to come.

With Josh Hart, Karl-Anthony Towns, Mitchell Robinson, Miles McBride, and Landry Shamet all out for the contest, Diawara got the start and got a taste of significant NBA action for the first time in his young career. Diawara scored 5 points, and grabbed 3 rebounds in 19 minutes in the team’s 114-113 win.

Head coach Mike Brown spoke after the game about the 51st overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft’s development so far.

“He's so young, just needs minutes, [but] it's hard…I want to send him to the G League but we just don't have enough bodies up here. So anytime I can find time for him I'm gonna do it because he has a chance to be really good in this league,” Brown said.

Diawara will look to build off of this newfound opportunity by continuing to develop and making an impression on the Knicks’ coaching staff this season. While he isn’t currently in the rotation, he has shown plenty of potential so far, which could result in more playing time in the near future.
