The New York Knicks have draft rights for a few players, including young point guard Rokas Jokubaitis, who is currently playing for Lithuania in the EuroBasket.

Unfortunately, however, BasketNews has reported that the 24-year-old has suffered a knee injury and will be out for at least six months.

Knicks standout faces tough road

“Lithuanian star point guard Rokas Jokubaitis faces a serious knee injury, BasketNews sources confirm. His EuroBasket journey is officially over and he will be sidelined for at least 6 months...

“According to BasketNews, the 24-year-old national team star has suffered an ACL and meniscus injury in his left knee,” they reported.

It wasn't expected that Jokubaitis would join the Knicks this season or anytime in the near future, but if New York wanted to add him to its roster over the next year or so, this could further complement the team.

It remains uncertain what the Knicks' plan is with the youngster, but he's had some promising signs throughout his career on the international stage.

Of course, international play is much different than the NBA, and something the Knicks understand considering how many players they have stashed, but there's a reason why they keep players like him around.

Jokubaitis' biggest tournament of the year is the EuroBasket., so this is a tough blow for the point guard drafted by the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Knicks have another player playing in Euro Basket, which includes Guerschon Yabusele, who had a near 40-point game for France on Tuesday.
