The New York Knicks have one goal this season, and that's to win an NBA championship.

After making the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in 25 years last season, they fired head coach Tom Thibodeau and brought in Mike Brown to lead the way. If the Knicks can't live up to their lofty expectations, it's possible owner James Dolan could clean house.

If President of Basketball Operations Leon Rose wants the best possible odds of at least making the NBA Finals, he could push all his chips in on a trade that signals championship or bust.

Knicks trade idea lands Giannis Antetokounmpo

In a trade idea proposed by Athlon Sports' Nathaniel Holloway, the Knicks would ship out Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby for Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo and Gary Trent Jr.

"Giannis would give the Knicks a dominant scorer and defender who would be a massive upgrade to their frontcourt alongside Towns," wrote Holloway.

"Last season, the 30-year-old star averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.2 blocks per game while shooting 60.1% from the field and 22.2% from three. By adding Giannis alongside Brunson and Towns, along with their improved depth, the Knicks could become the new title favorite this season and for many seasons to come."

It would be a tough pill to swallow, shipping out Bridges and Anunoby, as they were both key pieces in New York's Conference Finals run last season. But acquiring a player of Antetokounmpo's caliber may be hard to pass up.

A starting lineup of Jalen Brunson, Deuce McBride, Josh Hart, Antetokounmpo, and Karl-Anthony Towns would easily be one of the best in the league and make the Knicks a true title contender.
