At New York Knicks media day, forward Josh Hart had an unfortunate announcement regarding an injury that will affect him for the rest of the season.

Stefan Bondy of the New York Post was first to report on the injury.

"Josh Hart says he reaggravated his finger in the summer after surgery and thinks he’ll have to wear a splint this season before trying to fix it next summer," wrote Bondy in a post on X.

Josh Hart Reaggravates Finger Injury, Will Wear Splint All Season

Hart, entering his eighth season in the NBA and third full season with the Knicks, suffered the initial injury in the postseason last year.

He played through it then, and he'll play through it now.

The former Villanova product has been a key player for New York ever since coming over in a trade with the Portland Trail Blazers. Hart has also played for the Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans.

Since then, Hart has averaged 11.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 4.8 assists for his Knicks career, and they've won 116 games to only 69 losses.

Clearly, having him on the floor is the key to success for this iteration of the Knicks. His passing and rebounding are invaluable, and he is one of the best offensive rebounders in the entire NBA.

New York is fortunate that Hart is going to be playing through his finger injury, because otherwise, they would be losing a key component to their team, and certainly a "glue guy" who connects other pieces.
