The New York Knicks lost their fourth game in a row, Monday night in blowout fashion to the Eastern Conference-leading Detroit Pistons, 121-90.
With the defeat, the Knicks are not only still searching for their first win of the new year, but have dropped to third place, as their rival, the Boston Celtics, have surpassed them for the two seed.
After the game, many reactions and statements were made from the Knicks, but what their star guard, Jalen Brunson, had to say stood out the most.

Brunson says his team did not want it like the Pistons
In the post-game press conference, the all-star made it clear what he believed was the reason for the team's fourth consecutive loss.
"They truly wanted to win, and we didn't," Brunson said, and if it can be concerning when your best player is making statements such as this, as it kind of points to the team not putting in the proper effort.
Since winning the NBA Cup, New York is only 5-11 in its last 16 games, including many double-digit losses.
The cup was the organization's first major accomplishment since 1973, and if they want to win more than just a $500,000 incentive, then snapping out of this funk will be essential, as the team still has title aspirations.
The Knicks have been without Josh Hart, their starting shooting guard, since he injured himself during the Christmas Day win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, who has proved to be an essential piece to their team, especially on the defensive end.
It may not look the best for New York right now, but with the talent they possess, it would be hard to believe the struggles will continue. However, if the same problems persist with a healthy roster, it could cost them big-time.
