Evan Turner makes bold claim on Thanasis Antetokounmpo effectiveness in a Josh Hart type role image

A former second-overall pick made a bold claim about one player's potential effectiveness in a Josh Hart role.

Evan Turner went to X to give the internet his latest hot take.

What was Turner's bold claim?

Evan Turner on X (5/22/25):

This is a wild take and it has nothing to do with nothing but I believe that if Thanasis got the same amount of minutes as Josh Hart then I think he could be equally as impactful

A glance at a career stat comparison for each player would make Turner look foolish with this statement.

Thanasis is seen by most as an end-of-the-bench player who only plays in garbage time.

He missed all of the 24-25 NBA season, recovering from a torn achilles.

The two seasons prior, he only appeared in 71 games and played a total of  361 minutes.

It's hard looking at past stats of Thanasis to see if this claim has any validity, but I would think teams would have noticed his talent by now if he could excel in a Josh Hart minute load.

Antetokounmpo did have a 27 point game in Game 82 of the 21-22 NBA season when he played over 40 minutes.

This still seems like a bit of an outlandish take, as Hart finished the 24-25 NBA season averaging 13.6 PPG, 9.6 RPG (first among guards in NBA), 5.9 APG and 1.5 SPG.
