The New York Knicks are struggling, and Ben Stiller is hoping for the return of a key player soon.
Following the Knicks’ Monday night loss against the Detroit Pistons, Stiller took to social media to send a message to their standout sharpshooter, Josh Hart.
“I miss [Josh Hart],” Stiller wrote for his five million followers.
The movie star followed by adding, “This is painful.”
The Knicks Are Struggling
Heading into Monday’s game, the Pistons and the Knicks were the top two teams in the Eastern Conference, with the former team having a multi-game lead for first place.
A 121-90 beatdown issued the Knicks their fourth-straight loss. They have gone from winning the NBA Cup, feeling good about their standing in the East, to fighting through a slump.
Monday night’s loss for New York, mixed with a win for the Boston Celtics, allowed for the Cs to take over as the second seed in the East. The Knicks are 0.5 games back from Boston, while holding a 1.5 game lead over the Toronto Raptors.
When Could Josh Hart Return?
Dealing with a sprained ankle, which he suffered on Christmas Day, Hart has been off the court for the Knicks since missing the December 27 game against the Atlanta Hawks.
Monday’s action against the Pistons was the sixth absence in a row. In a little under one week, Hart is expected to be re-evaluated by the Knicks. Therefore, he will miss Wednesday’s action against the Los Angeles Clippers as well.
Beyond that, Hart’s return date is unknown. Barring any additional setbacks, he should be back very soon.
Prior to going down with a setback, Hart appeared in 28 games for the Knicks. He shot 49 percent from the field and drained 38 percent of his shots from beyond the arc. The veteran forward posted averages of 12.3 points, 5.1 assists, and 8.0 rebounds before going down.
