A few months ago, former MLB star Alex Rodriguez finally got the rights to be Timberwolves' owner after a multi-year dispute with the previous owner.
Minnesota is in a great place as a franchise, currently in the WCF for the second year in a row.
When you think of big names on the Timberwolves, names like Anthony Edwards, Julius Randle and Rudy Gobert come to mind.
There's one name though that Minnesota's owner is very high on that most people don't know yet.

What player is Alex Rodriguez talking about?
A-Rod is talking about 24-year-old rookie Terrence Shannon Jr.
Shannon Jr. played in just 32 games in the regular season, averaging 10.6 MPG.
The rookie was able to get a good run on the court, playing over 13 minutes in Game 3 against the Thunder.

Shannon Jr. had 15 points in extended minutes in Game 3, notably outscoring NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
He played five years of college ball, transferring to Illinois for his final three years after two years at Texas Tech.
Shannon Jr. had a fantastic final year in college at Illinois, averaging 23.0 PPG, 4.0 RPG and 2.3 APG.

He took home a spot on the AP All-America third team in 23-24.
Stephen A. Smith said on First Take recently that he spoke to A-Rod, and the T-Wolves' owner views Shannon Jr. as a key part of the franchise moving forward and can be part of the team's core in a couple of years as he develops.

With Minnesota already being a threat with their current roster, having Shannon Jr. potentially develop into the player that A-Rod thinks he can be, can be a great sign for the longevity of Minnesota when it comes to competing over the next five or so years.
Minnesota is back in action Monday night for Game 4 against the Thunder.
