The Milwaukee Bucks might trade away Giannis Antetokounmpo this summer. Or they might not.
At this point, nobody knows what the Bucks will do or what Giannis wants to do for his future in the NBA.
However, a big announcement came on Monday from ESPN's Shams Charania on the morning of the NBA Draft lottery.
"Sources tell me that Giannis Antetokounmpo, for the first time in his career, he's open-minded about exploring whether his best fit moving forward is outside of Milwaukee," Charania said. "He's going to explore that...He is the biggest domino in the NBA right now. He's a 30-year-old in the prime of his career. His potential availability is something all 29 teams outside of Milwaukee are monitoring."
So, he could be available, and it seems that Giannis is going to seriously explore his options.
Now, there is another interesting caveat with this announcement: It came on the day of the NBA Draft lottery, which is in Chicago. That means team executives are in the Windy City preparing for the lottery, and now they could discuss the idea of acquiring Giannis and seeing what exactly his price might be.
That means the other 29 teams could walk up to Bucks GM Jon Horst and try and get some idea of a price-point for the superstar.
Do you think it's a coincidence this report came out on the day of the lottery? Probably not.
Let the sweepstakes begin for Giannis.
