What did Stephen A. say about Giannis?

Giannis has been a hot name in NBA news recently, with the possibility of departing Milwaukee.

Stephen A. made the bold claim today that if Giannis were not to win another win he'd be an "underachiever."

He may have a point to some degree, but it's hard to not look at Giannis' resume and not be impressed.

He's already a champion after winning in 2021 and faced a very difficult Raptors team that prevented them from making the NBA Finals in the 2019 ECF.

Injuries impact all teams, but the Bucks have faced issues in that area at the worst possible teams over the years.

There's no doubt that Milwaukee could have had some deep playoff runs if it weren't for injuries in certain years.

On the other hand, it's also hard to ignore that Giannis is a two-time MVP and someone who is regularly in the MVP conversation.

Only 15 players have won 2+ MVPs ever.

On top of that, he's achieved these feats in his career:

  • 9x all-star
  • 9x all-NBA
  • 5x all-defense
  • NBA 75th anniversary team
  • 19-20 DPOY

These are just some of the main awards and recognitions he has received.

Should a player of his capability have more than one championship? Probably.

Giannis has shown loyalty his whole career and hasn't left to go to other teams and join a super team.

Now, there's a chance he does that this offseason, but to this point he's given the Bucks his all, which makes it hard to win titles the way he's expected to.

You'd expect two rings, minimum, for Giannis by the end of his career, but with what he's been through, it's not crazy to still call him very successful if he finishes with one championship.
