Giannis Antetokounmpo set to rejoin Bucks following COVID-19 recovery image

A new look Milwaukee Bucks squad is inching closer to the start of the 2025-26 season. After a dramatic offseason, they will look to get over their playoff hump and get back to winning fashion.

A lot of eyes have been on Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo and what he will be doing moving forward. The 30-year-old expressed frustration with the team in prior months after Milwaukee failed to win a playoff series for a third straight year.

The start to Antetokounmpo's season hasn't gone as planned, and he was absent for the Bucks' media day earlier this week. However, he will look to rejoin the team over the weekend.

Giannis Antetokounmpo to rejoin Bucks after recovering from COVID-19

After testing positive for COVID-19 last week, Giannis Antetokounmpo remained in Greece during his recovery. According to The Athletic's Eric Nehm, he is expected to fly to Miami on Saturday to rejoin the Bucks as they prepare for their preseason opener against the Heat on Oct. 6.

Antetokounmpo was playing for Greece in EuroBasket 2025, resulting in him not participating in the Bucks' training camp in recent weeks. His status for Monday's game is uncertain.
