Giannis Antetokounmpo returned with a bang.
On Saturday night, the NBA superstar went viral as he decided to break an unwritten NBA rule. Instead of letting the clock run out at the end of the game, Giannis rushed to the other side of the court to throw down a highlight-reel dunk against the Chicago Bulls.
As expected, an on-court altercation ensued, as both teams got heated. After the game, Bulls star Coby White spoke about his message for Antetokounmpo.

“He shouldn’t have dunked the ball. It’s disrespectful to the game. I said, ‘Bro, you’re better than that.’ The game is over with. Why you gotta do that? It’s a respect thing,” White told reporters.
Perhaps Giannis got a little ahead of himself, excited for his return to the court. It’s been a while since he’s had a chance to compete in a game setting.
Against the Bulls on Saturday, Giannis checked in for 25 minutes. He went 10-15 from the field and made all but two of his 10 free throws. The veteran scored 29 points.
Antetokounmpo finished the game two rebounds shy of a double-double and added one steal and one block on the defensive end. The Bucks took care of business with a 112-103 victory. They move to 13-19 on the year.
Earlier this month, Giannis Antetokounmpo went down with a calf injury in a matchup against the Detroit Pistons. Although the Bucks won the game, they lost Giannis for several weeks of action. Since then, they’ve been sliding down the Eastern Conference standings, while battling trade rumors regarding their top star.
One night won’t change the direction of the Milwaukee-based franchise, but the Bucks had a little fire lit from Antetokounmpo’s move on Saturday night. The hoops world will see how they respond on Monday, when the Bucks pay a visit to the Charlotte Hornets.
