The Milwaukee Bucks have been doing their best to appease Giannis Antetokounmpo.
They've tried to shake up their roster this offseason, signing former Indiana Pacers big man Myles Turner and former Orlando Magic point guard Cole Anthony. But is it enough to make them contenders in the Eastern Conference?
It doesn't seem like it, at least right now, and the Bucks may be better off trying to recoup value for their two-time league MVP before he demands a trade out or walks in free agency.
Bucks trade idea ships out Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Knicks
In a trade idea proposed by Nathaniel Holloway of Athlon Sports, Milwaukee would ship Antetokounmpo to the New York Knicks in exchange for OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges, and multiple first-round picks.
"Of course, Giannis’ future with the Milwaukee Bucks has been in question, though the superstar forward has elected to stay in Milwaukee to start this season, though that could change," wrote Holloway.
"Despite this, Giannis may elect to stay with the Bucks this season and if he does demand a trade, another team could outbid the Knicks for him."
There are certainly more teams with draft capital around the league than the Knicks, who could provide a better package, but if the Bucks are looking to win now, since they don't have any of their own picks, the forward duo of Bridges and Anunoby may be a more palatable return.
Both wings played key roles in the Knicks' run to the conference finals last season, and would give Milwaukee a solid young core to build around as they begin a new era without their 2021 Finals MVP.
